May Stable News

Real Key broke through for an impressive and well deserved win at Hawkesbury on the 31st May.

After a very interrupted preparation due to abandoned meetings, heavy tracks and bad barriers, it was very pleasing to see Keys add win number 10 to his already impressive record!

We’ve had a few horses returning to the races and trials over the past month. However, after the cancellation of barrier trials and jumpouts, our first up starters have gone to the races with plenty of improvement left in them.

  • Victory at Omaha returned with a fantastic effort at Moruya to be run down in the final stages, finishing 2nd
  • Hope Uno put in a great effort first up at the same meeting to finish 3rd.
  • Freaky Freckles appreciated getting back on a slightly better surface at Moruya and worked home strongly from the back of the field to finish 2nd.
  • Eberlee worked home well at Goulburn (Kembla Meeting) on the 17th May to finish 3rd She then stepped up to metro grade last Wednesday and gave a great sight in running 2nd   at Warwick Farm.
  • Alan and Halliday Road also added placings at the beginning of the month at Sapphire Coast.

We would like to welcome apprentice jockey, Madison Waters to the Bateup Racing Team!!!

Madison aboard Halliday Road

Madi was previously apprenticed to Rob & Luke Price and joined Bateup Racing in early May. She had previously enjoyed success for our stable. Her first ever win was aboard Halliday Road. Madi has also won for us on Titaness, Madison’s Missile and Stryke Em Onesie. Madi was straight into the place getters stalls at Moruya on Freaky Freckles and Hope Uno with her first rides as the stable apprentice. We look forward to celebrating many future successes together
