Jarrett topped of a terrific performance by Bateup Racing in claiming back-to-back Merimbula Jazz Cups at the Sapphire Coast on Saturday.
The ‘King of the Coast’ showed speed early holding the inside rail. Sitting second behind Assault’n’bathory down the back straight they both pulled away from the pack.
Stablemate ‘Old Man’s Angel’ unfortunately bared the brunt of a blow out by ‘Bart’ mid race leaving him well behind but made up a remarkable amount of distance to finish fifth.
Along the final bend, Jess pulled beside the leader with a clear run ahead. Taking the lead at the 300 it was no turning back, been in this position before it looked all too familiar with the ‘King of the Coast’ stretching away for the comfortable win.
The Cup victory capped off a stellar stable performance on another Sunday to remember at the Sapphire Coast.

We had another great day at Sapphire Coast on Sunday. All six of our runners performed well and we ended the day with 2 winners, a second, two thirds and an unlucky 5th! “King of the Coast” Jarrett made it back to back Merimbula Cup wins with a dominant display for Jess Taylor. Titaness kicked off her campaign with a solid win for Madison Waters. Without Equal returned to the races with a good 2nd whilst King Tat and Alan also put in good performances to finish 3rd. Old Man’s Angel ran 5th in the Cup however would have easily filled the placings but for suffering interference mid race. Very proud of the whole team. Congratulations to all involved and thank you to everyone that makes these great results possible
