Golly I’m Lucky has produced a superb performance after a 25 week spell to claim the BenchMark 70 at Newcastle on Saturday 20 June, 2020.
Starting at the rear of the pack, it was always going to take a tenacious ride to claim the short 1200m distance.
At the 400m mark Brock was able to spot a gap 5 spaces wide with ‘Spider’ providing a fresh pair of heels to kick on.
The pack put down a fight, but it was Golly I’m Lucky with the pace out wide to claim the tough win by 1.76L.
That now takes Golly I’m Lucky’s record to an impressive 23% Win rate and a 52% Place rate.
