This season has been our best in recent years, culminating in 25 wins, 34.5 2nds (and I don’t want to count how many photo finishes we were beaten in!!) and 33 3rd placings.
We had 167.5 top 5 finishes (52.6% of our starters) and won just shy of $1.1 million in prizemoney (equating to a return of $3400 per starter).
With good results across all levels, we achieved multiple Midway and metro placings plus provincial wins and had another successful Bega Cup carnival.
Sapphire Coast was once again a happy hunting ground with 12 winners. We also had 5 winners at our home track Kembla Grange and had wins at Queanbeyan, Moruya and Canberra.
Jess Taylor, Amy McLucas and Brock Ryan all rode 7 winners each for the stable, whilst Claire Ramsbotham, Louise Day, Robyn Freeman and Chad Lever were also in the winners’ stall for us.
Sablonneuse was the stable star for the year with 4 wins, whilst Kitty Okay, London Star, Lady Yarrow and Pretty Please all won 2 each.
Our other winners were Prized Alwyns, Sebastian’s Flyer, Brundee Tom, Liamena Avenue, Brannum, Eltrum, Bikini Babe, Hunter One, Hussy La Vista, Lantau Island, Mr Fabulous, Nights Inferno and Miss Bariloche.
We are very proud of our achievements this year, but are looking forward to producing our best-ever season for 2026 /2027. We have built up a nice team moving forward and this couldn’t be done without the support of our owners and the hard work of our staff. I would like to thank everyone involved with the stable for your support and efforts and look forward to celebrating many good results in the coming season.
July Highlights
We finished the 2025/6 season in great style with 3 winners and a 2nd in the final week.
Tough Sandbar gelding, Sablonneuse started the winning weekend with a courageous victory over 2400m at Kembla with Brock Ryan was in the saddle.
The following day at Sapphire Coast, Hussy La Vista started the day with an easy win in the Super Maiden over 1410m for Jess Taylor. Brock then produced a memorable ride, guiding Lantau Island from last for a stunning win in the Class 1 and Maiden 1610m.
Watch Me Tango almost brought up a winning treble with an excellent effort on debut to finish 2nd. This was despite not having a lot of galloping room in the straight.
The 1st of August was the Horse’s Birthday and we were delighted and very thankful to be able to celebrate our horses special day with our staff. A huge thank you and appreciation to Sonya, Jason and Michelle Toogood for organising a Birthday Breakfast at the stables which was enjoyed by the team.
The first of our babies have landed in the stables for their initial preparations and education. The Sandbar / Lagarde filly, Profiteer / Red Heeler filly, Bruckner / Champion Parade colt, Jacquinot / Clemency colt and Captivant / Vintage Valley filliy are all currently all in work at Kembla.
The King’s Legacy / Hard To find colt, Captivant / Perfect Rhyme colt and Tassort / Shenthara filly are in pre-training while the Spirit of Boom / Thuwaany filly heads into pre- training mid-month.
It is exciting seeing the babies develop and this is a lovely group of horses. There are still ownership opportunities available in a variety of horses to suit all budgets.
As our team is growing, we are seeking some additional ground staff. If you know of anyone that would be interested in joining our team please pass on our contact details. We are looking for reliable staff to assist with mucking out boxes, saddling, hosing, swimming and general stable duties.

Racing Reports
Sablonneuse was left in front by default at Newcastle on the 14th July. Freddie is at his best when he has something to chase down but It was still a brave effort.
Next, he stepped up to 2400m at Kembla Grange on the 25th July. This time he settled back in the field, made a long sustained run and put in a very tough effort to win by a head.
Freddie was then on the quick back up at Kensington over 2400m on the 29thJuly and got no luck at all in running He was entitled to drop out but still tried hard to finish 4th.
Freddie has had a brilliant preparation winning first up over 1200m and adding a further 3 wins over 1400m, 2000m and 2400m (as well as a very close 2nd at Kembla, two x metro 4th placings and an unlucky 4th in the Wagga Guineas). He highlights the versatility and toughness of his sire, Sandbar and still has plenty of improvement to come. Freddie is now enjoying a well-deserved break back home at Kooringal Stud and we look forward to seeing what he can do next preparation. Hussy La Vista had produced sound efforts this preparation and broke through to the winners stall in style at Sapphire Coast when taking out the Super Maiden by 2.3 lengths. Hussy jumped well and settled just behind the leaders. Peeling across the leaders heels in the straight, she and Jess Taylor showed their rivals a clean set of heels. Hussy has always shown ability at home and it is pleasing to see her starting to deliver on the track. She will get out over further and will take a lot of confidence from her win.
Lantau Island has had absolutely no luck with barriers! At Wagga on a very heavy track, Lenny went forward from a wide barrier but got bogged down in the conditions. He then lined up at Sapphire Coast where from a wide barrier over the 1600m, he went back to last. Lenny travelled well throughout but on straightening there was a wall of horses in front of him and seemingly nowhere to go. Lenny and Brock Ryan weaved their way through the field and when a gap opened Lenny accelerated nicely to draw away and win by half a length. It was a well deserved victory for Lenny who has raced honestly since joining the stable in February. He has returned 4 times his purchase price in a single preparation. Lenny is now enjoying a break and can add further wins to his record next time in.
Watch Me Tango trialled well against the older horses at Moruya on the 10thJuly before an excellent debut effort at Sapphire Coast on the 26th where she finished a brave 2nd. Tango is another of our youngsters with a fantastic attitude and the ability to win races in the near future.
Master Johnny lined up in a Super Maiden at Moruya on the 10th July over 1435m. Johnny was a bit restless in the barriers and missed the start, settling well back.. He circled the field and straightened up the widest runner but wound up well to hit the line strongly for 3rd placing. Johnny was on the quick back up in a Super Maiden at Warwick Farm on the 15th July. He again settled back in the field and worked home well to finish 4th. Johnny is now enjoying a spell and will return a lot stronger within himself. He can find his way into the winners stall quickly next preparation.
Mr Reiby was a very good debut performance at Moruya on the 10th July in a Maiden over 1210m when finishing 3rd. At Kembla Grange over 1400m, Reiby again stuck to his task and was far from disgraced finishing 5th. He has a great attitude and isn’t far off winning his Maiden.
Coral Cove “Louie” made his race debut at Kembla Grange on the 16th July. He didn’t get a lot of galloping room in the straight but put in a good effort to finish 5th. Louie then stepped up to 1300m at Illawarra Grange on the 30thJuly and was an eye catching effort coming from last and making up a stack of ground for a fast finishing 3rd. He still has a lot of maturing to do but has natural ability.
Bow Lion has done a great job in her two race starts this preparation and has such a fantastic attitude. Bow was good at Warwick Farm first up when wide throughout. She then finished off well at Kembla on the 25th July. Bow will return a much stronger filly following a spell.
Brannum was a solid effort at Warwick Farm on the 15th July when up in grade in a Benchmark 72 over 1600m. He was wide throughout and beaten only 2.84 lengths. He was then far from disgraced when taking on a Midway at Randwick over 1600m. Noodle is likely to head to Nowra or Hawkesbury in early August.
Final Spirit had no luck at all in a Moruya Super Maiden on the 10th July then wasn’t given the best of rides at Kembla on the 25th July. Dan shows ability at home and can produce a much better effort on race day with a bit better luck and as he continues to learn some race craft.
Atossa did her best work late at Sapphire Coast in a Super Maiden behind stable mate Hussy La Vista. Persia is still quite raw but has ability once she learns how to utilise it.
Landmark Lady ran 4th in a small field at Gosford over 1600m on the 9th July. Pisa hasn’t had much luck all this preparation with a number of suitable races she was accepted for being deleted. She is now having a short break.
Frosted Amour was a sound effort first up and will continue to improve with racing as she steps up in journey.
Star of Kyeema and Elle Tee returned to the races. Both were in need of the run and will strip fitter for their efforts.
Wildstone Nature made his race debut at Kembla. He handled the day out quite well and will take improvement with racing.

“Flick” a 2yo filly by Captivant out of Vintage Valley (making her a half sister to Hey Dot) has arrived for her first preparation following her breaking in and pre training at Wadari.
“Tassie” a 2yo filly by Tassort out of Shenthara is currently in pre training at Wadari Stables and will arrive at Kembla during the month for her first preparation.
Aegipan “Pan” a tough 7yo gelding by Panzer Division will arrive at the stables this week having run 2nd at Kembla Grange at his latest start on the 25th July.
Rockbarton Red: a 3yo gelding by Rubick out of Freaky Freckles.“Gilbert” will head into pre training this month before arriving at the stables. I trained his dam, Freaky Freckles who was a talented mare winning 4 races. See Ownership Opportunities below.
