April Stable News

It has been a quieter month on the racing front however Blink Twice kept the winners flag flying with a tough and very well deserved win at Bathurst on Anzac Day.

Magico Hombre is on track for the Wagga Guineas on the 7th May following a solid effort to finish 4th at Kembla Grange (and he got a great write up in the Kooringal Stud Newsletter!!!

We welcome apprentice Ellen Hennessy to the team. She is now indentured to us for the remainder of her apprenticeship. Ellen only has about 12 winners left before she outrides her country claim and is fantastic value at the provincial and metropolitan tracks with a 3kg claim. Ellen has already ridden winners for the stable, having saluted on Halliday Road in back to back wins. She rode the winner of this year’s Albury Guineas and also ran 3rd on the same horse, Easy Campese at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

We also welcome Sally Faulks to our team. Sally, who has previously worked for us will also be apprenticed. She has completed most of her barrier trials and only needs a couple more before she is ready to hit the races!!!

The Inglis “Scone” Yearling Sale (at Riverside Warwick Farm) is upon us with the sale on this Sunday 2nd May and Monday 3rd May. I have been up at Warwick Farm for the past couple of days completing inspections and sorting through my long short list and have identified some potential recruits to the Bateup Racing Team. Everyone is welcome to attend (it is a great facility and quite an enjoyable day out) so if you are in the area and wish to attend you are more than welcome to call in. If you are interested in being involved in our new purchases please let me know, and we will be sending out an email next week with details of our purchases.
