March Stable News

It has been a huge month for the stables with the team absolutely flying!!! We had 25 runners resulting in a massive 7 winners, 4 x 2nd placings, 3 x 3rd placings and 4 x 4th placings.

It has been a superb effort by the whole team and a big thank you to everyone that plays their role in getting our horses to the races in such fantastic order. There are many people that play a role, including (bit not limited to) our track work riders, ground staff, strappers, farriers, vets, chiropractors, dentist, breakers, spelling farms, transport companies, feed suppliers, bedding suppliers, jockeys and owners. Again, a big thank you and well done to everyone involved.

The winners started on the 1st March with a treble at Sapphire Coast courtesy of the “old boy” Halliday Road, new recruit Pindarra’s Dream and Club Legend who took out the Merimbula Cup – making it the 3rd year in a row we have won this race. With three runners in the Cup this year we finished 1st, 3rd and 4th).

We also ventured to the Albury Cup carnival where Without Equal saluted and Foxtrot Bravo was dominant in winning the Adrian Ledger Memorial in track record time!!

Pindarra’s Dream then made it two wins from two starts for the stable when demolishing the field at Queanbeyan (transferred from Goulburn), whilst Magico Hombre concluded the month with an easy win at Sapphire Coast. This added to our big lead in the Sapphire Coast Trainer’s Premiership with 14 wins at this fantastic track so far this season).

Aphro Man (2), Blink Twice, Club Legend, Magico Hombre, Golly I’m Lucky and Old Man’s Angel all added placings to their records.

It has been a trying month on many levels with the severe weather events and most importantly we hope that everyone is safe and sound. At Kembla Grange we had plenty of rain, but no flooding and whilst we didn’t miss any training, the weather played havoc with a number of races meetings, trials and jump outs being transferred, abandoned or called off part way through.

We look forward to another busy month ahead with a number of horses (especially our 2yo’s) heading towards jump outs and trials and possibly onto the races. Our yearlings are continuing to go through the breaking in process with the Headwater colt now having been broken in and the Flying Artie and Deep Field fillies currently at the breakers.

We are very pleased to have teamed up with Impact Thoroughbreds who purchased the Deep Field filly at the Classic Yearling Sale and look forward to a successful partnership!

We hope everyone has an enjoyable Easter and has the opportunity to have a couple of relaxing days.
