We had a pretty quiet month on the racing front with only a handful of runners.
However Old Man’s Angel kept the flag flying for the stables with a strong win at Goulburn on the 11th
September where he led all the way at his first attempt over 2100m.
This was career win number 6 for “Charlie” who has now earned over $100k
in prizemoney.
The racing team will start to build up in the
next couple of weeks with some of the “old stagers” ready to return to
the races (including Halliday Road, Micheal Oscar and Freaky Freckles). At the same time some of our first starters and lightly raced younger horses are almost ready to line up. Horses such as River Charge and The Guru will be heading to the trials.
Stable stars Monegal and Golly I’m Lucky have returned from a freshen up and are being aimed towards “The Gong” race day at Kembla Grange on the 21st November.
Our
2yo’s continue to come through the stables for their initial
preparations and we have had a couple of quality 2yo’s join the stable
(thanks to Kooringal Stud)!
We wish Jess Taylor
the best of luck with her rides in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap and
Metropolitan on Saturday … it is unbelievable to think that it was only 2
months ago that Jess suffered fractured vertebrae in a fall and she is
already back at the races and riding in Group1’s!!!
There
continue to be changes to attendance rules at race meetings under Covid
restrictions. Arrangements differ from club to club so please check
emails sent to you from the race clubs for instructions on bookings
(these are sent when your horse is accepted).
