The Guru continues to impress

Exciting young stayer ‘The Guru’ continues to impress at Metropolitan and Provincial level achieving two wins and four placings since his last spell.

The half brother to Fleeting Stryke has had a fantastic preparation and has come such a long way. He commenced the preparation with a win over 1200m at a TAB 2 Meeting at Sapphire Coast and this Saturday he lines up in a Benchmark 78 over 2400m!

The Guru storming home at Kembla Grange

In between Guru showed a lot of determination to win at his first attempt over 2000m at Kembla on the 7th May ridden by Jess Taylor. Guru then made the mammoth step up in grade to a 3yo Benchmark 74 at Randwick and whilst starting the outsider of the field produced the quickest last 600m of the race to finish 3rd. It was a great ride by Andrew Adkins and with a little better luck in running could have gone even closer.

Guru takes another step up this Saturday when he lines up over 2400m and takes on the older horses. This time he will be ridden by Robbie Dolan. Win, lose or drawn, Guru has done an exceptional job this preparation for an amazing groups of owners!

The Guru produced a super effort at Randwick today to finish 3rd. It was a big step up in grade and Guru showed that he is a promising stayer working home strongly from the back of the field for Andrew Adkins. Guru has a very happy group of owners. Well done and can’t wait until owners can get back to the races to cheer him on as he has a very big cheer squad!!!
