Sunday 7th August
Sapphire Coast
Halliday Road – 1st:
Hal debuted for the stable in the best possible fashion, scoring a tough win in the 900m Maiden. Ridden by Jess Taylor, Hal was able to make use of barrier 3 to sit right on the speed. Whilst it looked as though the second horse was going to sail straight past him, Hal dug in deep to score narrowly in a photo finish. There will be more wins in store for this gelding who was only having his 4th race start today and still has a bit to learn!

Saturday 6th August
Newcastle (Beaumont Track)
Pena Ajena – 1st: At only his 3 race start and in his first race preparation, Stormy stepped straight up to 2100m  and on a bog track. Against a small line up of 5 runners, Stormy was ridden by Travis Wolfgram. Settling at the rear of the 5 horse field, Stormy was given a great ride by Travis and revelled in the conditions and the extra distance to run down the odds on favourite and score quite a soft win! A promising stayer in the making!!!

Freedom Call – 1st:
Tina returned to Moruya over 1300m with Jess Taylor in the saddle replacing the suspended Simon Miller. In a repeat of her win at Moruya two starts ago, Tina found the lead, gave a kick off the home turn and never looked like getting beaten to win comfortably by 1.5 lengths.

Friday 13th MayScone (Metro meeting)

Fleeting Stryke – 2nd:
Stryker produced an excellent effort in the $100,000 Scone 2yo Inglis Challenge. Although we knew Stryker was looking for further than the 1100m prior to the race, ridden by Jay Ford, Stryker settled worse than mid field and 3 wide (with cover), however wound up strongly in the straight to be hitting the line well, reeling in all bar the winner. Not bad for our $2000 purchase from last years Scone Yearling Sale!

Sunday 24th April
Nowra
Freedom Call – 1st:
Tina finally saluted for a well deserved win in the Maiden over 1400m. Given a superb ride by Kayla Nisbet, Tina held off the favourite to score a well overdue victory!

A superb effort by Stryker coming from last over 1000m at Gosford to hit the line gamely with Kathy O’Hara in the saddle.

Friday 4th March
Sapphire Coast
Freedom Call – 2nd:

An excellent first up effort over 1200m. Tina hit the front soon after straightening only to go down narrowly to the odds on favourite, clearly beating the rest. Ridden by Simon Miller.

Sunday 29th NovemberNowraFreedom Call – 2nd: Tina almost notched up her first win, given a brilliant ride by Brodie Loy. Tina drove up the inside and looked as though she would go past the winner but it was a touch too strong on the line.

Tuesday 16th June
Kembla Grange
Mermaid Rock – 1st:
First up on a track rated a Heavy 10, punters didn’t take a liking to the daughter of Rock of Gibraltor in the 6 horse field. Sent out the despised outsider, “Molly” came from last, down the outside to swamp the small field, relishing the wet conditions under the guidance of Grant Buckley. Molly has matured since her first preparation and given the current wet track conditions should be able to add more wins to her record.

Sunday 30th May
Nowra
Ancient Art- 4th:
Anicent made a pleasing debut for the stable, working home nicely over 1100m first up. She will improve off the run and as she steps up in distance.

Saturday 17th May
Kembla Grange
Arrow’s Destiny – 3rd:
Arrow stepped up in grade to a 1400m Maiden at Kembla on the 17th May. Travelling just behind the leaders Arrow again knuckled down well to give chase the leader and looked destined for victory only to be gathered in by the swoopers down the outside to finish 3rd. Arrow has been a model of consistency collecting placegetters cheques at his past 4 starts.

Sunday 3rd May
Saphhire Coast
Lightning Gail – 2nd:
Lumona produced a very good effort in the South Coast Cup at Sapphire Coast, taking up her customary role in the lead and looked to have the race won, only to be run down in the shadows of the post to finish a very gallant second.

Arrow’s Destiny – 2nd:
Arrow ran a super race, showing that he matured following a spell. Travelling mid field Arrow chased well in the straight to run an excellent second beaten only half a length.

Sunday 5th April
Mudgee
Danical – 3rd: “Danical settled towards the rear of the field and produced a withering burst down the outside fence, despite being held up around the home turn, to just miss out on victory in an eye catching effort.

Sunday 15th March
Wagga
Dust Devil – 4th:
“Dusty” produced a super effort to run an unlucky 4th beaten less than half a length. Dusty attacked the line, despite racing in limited room most of the straight.

Wednesday 25th February
Rosehill
Lightning Gail – 4th:
“Lumona” produced yet another superb effort in the Benchmark 75 over 1500m. From barrier 1, Lumona box seated 3rd the fence, and stuck hard up against the rails in the home straight to be beaten in a four way finish. Lumona was in front a stride after the post, but missed out by a bob of the head on the line to be denied winners or placegetters prizemoney by the barest of margins.

Tuesday 24th February
Goulburn
Henny’s Lass – 4th:
“Lass” jumped fairly from barrier 1 with Jason Collett in the saddle. Travelling in a nice postion just behind the leader, Lass lost all chance of victory when suffering interference at the 500m mark. Lass lost her position going back to second last in the field and did well to regain her balance and finish 4th. Without the interference Lass would have run a clear second if not fought out the finish with the eventual winner.

Sunday 22nd February
Cowra
Dust Devil – 3rd:
“Dusty” did not fair well at the barrier draw, coming up with barrier 11 in the 12 horse field over 1100m (hardly ideal at Cowra). With Tony Cavallo in the saddle, Dusty won the start but drifted back through the field, however despite being forced to race wide throughtout worked home gamely to finish 3rd. A good tough effort, suggesting another win is not far off in a suitable race.

Friday 20th February
Moruya
Little Red Shoes – 3rd:
“Ginga” made a very pleasing debut in the Maiden over 930m. Despite being slowly away and settling towards the rear of the field, Ginga stormed home to grab thrid prizemoney. A little wayward in the straight, Ginga will learn a lot from the raceday experience and won’t take long to win a Maiden.

Danical – 3rd:
“Bess” made her debut for the stable having not raced since May 2014. Settling 3 lengths behind the second last horse, Bess made up good ground on the inside to storm home into third placing. A very good first up effort for a mare who gets over further!

Turanor – 3rd:  Turanor finally lived up to her looks and her track work running a solid 3rd placing. Beginning much better, Deanne positioned Turanor in 2nd placing during the run, and depsite looking like they were going to be swamped in the final 100m, Turanor knuckled down and tried very hard. A much more pleasing effort.

Wednesday 4th February
Warwick Farm
Lightning Gail – 1st:
Lumona showed her first up effort was no fluke. Stepping up to city grade and to 1600m, Lumona (again partnered by Deanne Panya), gave her rivals something to chase, again opening up a big mid race lead, and fought on determinedly to record another win to her race record.

Saturday 17th January
Kembla Grange
Lightning Gail – 1st:  Lumona resumed from a spell in a Class 2 over 1400m, in the best possible fashion. With Deanne Panya in the saddle, Lumona took up the running and literally ran her rivals off their feet, setting up an 8 length break mid race. The opposition never looked like catching the daughter of Dehere, winning by a comfortable 2.5 lengths under hands and heels. Lumona looks to have a promising preparation ahead given that she won over 2100m last preparation.

Friday 2nd January
Sapphire Coast
Henny’s Lass – 4th:
Lass showed a glimpse of her old form with a super effort in the Tathra Cup over 1000m. Drawing wide in barrier 10, Deanne Panya settled Lass mid field and worked home strongly down the outside to just miss the placings.

2015

Sunday 7th December
Hawkesbury
Arrow’s Destiny- 3rd:
Arrow collected another 3rd placing stepping up to provincial grade and taking on a strong field in a Maiden over 1600m at Hawkesbury. Arrow again attacked the line and handled the heavy track conditions. Arrow will now head for a spell and be gelded and should return a stonger, more mature race horse with a bright future in front of him.

Sunday 23rd November Goulburn
Arrow’s Destiny- 3rd:  Arrow collected his first place getters cheque with a gutsy 3rd. Despite being slowly away, apprentice Deanne Panya manuvered a sweet run up the fence to settle just off the leaders. Arrow worked gamely to the line and was denied 2nd placing in a photo finish.

Friday 21st November
Hawkesbury
Hypernicus- 4th:
Hoss was given the run of the race by apprentice Brodie Loy in the Class 2 over 1600m, however did not let down quite as well as he can on the hard track. Albeit a gallant effort in a long preparation.

Tuesday 4th November
Nowra
Dust Devil- 4th:
Dusty ran yet another honest race. With Tony Cavallo in the saddle, Dusty settled nicely in 4th position and whilst looming as a chance, held his ground in the straight on a track that favoured front runners. Dusty will now head for a well earned break.

Mermaid Rock – 4th:
Molly made a pleasing debut in a 1000m Maiden. Ridden by apprentice Jacob Gilchrist, Molly was slowly away, however made up good ground in the run home, one of only a few horses to make up ground on the day.

Sunday 2nd November
Goulburn
Bulloo Downs- 1st:
First up for the stable and ridden by stable apprentice, Deanne Payna, Bulloo Downs settled last in the Class 1 over 1000m. Switching over heels at the top of the straight, Bulloo rattled home down the extreme outside to winning by a long neck. On the effort there should be more wins in store for the daughter of Byblos!

Saturday 20th September
Wagga
Dust Devil- 1st:
Another week another winner! Dusty was not to be outdone by his stablemates, and despite a couple of lacklustre efforts at his previous 2 starts, Dusty finally produced on the race track! Ridden by Kody Nestor, Dusty settled just behind the speed and peeled out in the straight to unleash a powerful finishing burst, running away from the field to win by 1.5 lengths.

Saturday 13th September
Kembla Grange
Hypernicus – 1st: Hoss finally returned to the winners circle in style taking out the Berry Cup over 1600m. With Brodie Loy in the saddle, Hoss settled at the rear of the field and despite not getting clear running until the final 200m, weaved through the field to score a dominant win by 1.5 lengths.

Tuesday 9th September
Kembla Grange
Turbulence – 1st: Turbo showed plenty of guts and determination to win the 1300m Maiden with Winona Costin in the saddle. Beinning well, Turbo took up the running and gave a good kick off the home turn. Turbo was challenged and headed by the Waterhouse runner but dug deep to kick back and win.

Monday 8th August
Queanbeyan
Lightning Gail – 3rd: Lumona produced yet another consistent performance. Settling outside the leader Lumona took the lead turning for home, but 4 weeks between runs and interruptions to work due the wet weather saw her condition give out over the final 200m to be beaten in a photo for second.

Thursday 14th August
Gosford
Lightning Gail – 1st: Lumona broke through for her Maiden win in style! Stepping up to 2100m for the first time, Lumona took control of the race from the outset under the steering of Grant Buckley. Lumona had the rest of the field off the bit and chasing and won easily by 2.5 lengths with a further 8 3/4 lengths back to the third placegetter.

Turbulence – 2nd:
Turbo nearly made it a double for the stable on the day with an excellent 2nd resuming from a spell. Ridden by Winona Costin, Turbo settled just off the speed and hit the line well, albeit suffering interence 100m from the line. A game effort and it shouldn’t take Turbo long to break through for her Maiden win.

Wednesday 6th August
Canterbury
Hypernicus – 4th: Taking his place in the NWM over 1550m, with premiership winning jockey James McDonald in the saddle, Hoss was a good thing beaten losing all hope when knuckling badly at the start. Rather than taking up a nice position mid field, Hoss was left at the tail of the field, giving the leaders a mammoth start. Hoss wound up gamely down the outside, just missing third placing in a photo. James was full of praise for Hoss and adamant he should have won if not for knuckling at the start.

Wednesday 30th July
Warwick Farm
Lightning Gail – 4th:
Lumona travelled to Warwick Farm for her first start away from Kembla. Not suited by the slow mid race pace, Lumona produced another good performance to run 4th. Lumona is looking for further and will step up in distance at her next start.

Saturday 19th July
Kembla Grange
Hypernicus – 2nd:
Hoss lined up in a Class 2 over 1600m at his first start on his home track. Hoss looked the winner when lauching down the outside, only to be denied by one that snuck through on the rail. There was a gap back to the rest of the field. Another 2nd placing for Hoss, who with luck will break through for another win in the near future.

Tuesday 15th July
Kembla Grange
Lightning Gail – 4th: Lumona again lined up over 1600m and produced yet another solid effort with Grant Buckley in the saddle. Lumona kept working to the line, and will be assisted by the addition of blinkers, just wanting to float in her action. Another consistent performance.

Saturday 28th June
Kembla Grange
Lightning Gail – 3rd:
Lining up for her third career start, Lumona stepped up to the 1600m following two solid efforts at shorter distances. With Mitchell Bell in the saddle, Lumona was held up for clear running until halfway down the straight and attacked the line gamely to run a very good, and somewhat unlucky, third placing.

Dust Devil – 4th:
Dusty made his debut for the stable in the 1200m Maiden. Whilst no match for the winner, who was classes above the field, Dusty produced an even first up performance to collect the 4th place prizemoney cheque. Dusty will derive benefit from the run.

Thursday 3rd June
Hawkesbury
Hypernicus – 2nd:
Hoss resumed in super order in the Class 1 over 1400m. With regular rider, Scott Pollard in the saddle, Hoss, as usual, drew poorly in barrier 12 and  carried top weight of 59.5kg. Hoss settled at the rear of the field and stormed home, hitting the line hard to just miss catching the leader by a neck.

Thursday 26th December
Randwick

Hypernicus – 2nd:
Hoss stepped up to city company at only his third race start when taking his place in the No Metro Win Hcp over 1600m. With regular jockey, Scott Pollard, in the saddle, Hoss jumped well from an outside barrier and was unfortunately posted 3 and 4 deep throughout. However Hoss showed tremendous courage to keep coming the length of the Randwick straight, only to be denied by a head. A fantastic effort, and a city win is not far off!

Thursday 12th December
Goulburn
Anatomic – 4th: Ricki lined up in the Benchmark 60 over 1400m for aprrentice riders only at Goulburn. Drawing wide, Ricki was last out of the barriers however mustered speed to drive through and take up the running. Ricki fought bravely down the straight, looking as though he would make it two wins in a row, however was swamped in the last 50 metres. Yet another good effort.

Monday 2nd December
Bathurst
Anatomic – 1st: Ricki finally stepped back into the winners stall in fine style in the Class 3 over 1400m at Bathurst. With Brodie Loy in the saddle, from barrier 1, Ricki took up the running, railed like a greyhound and sprinted away to win eased down by 3.5 lengths in class record time (and only four thenths of a second outside the track record. It was a well deserved win, as Ricki has been racing consistently against tougher opposition and without much luck going his way.

Saturday 30th November HawkesburyHypernicus – 2nd: “Hoss” was first up from a spell, stepping up to class 1 company, carrying top weight of 59kg over 1500m following his excellent debut at Newcastle in June. Hoss showed his debut effort was no fluke with a very good second to the odds on favourite. Settling towards the rear of the field, Hoss was taking ground off the winner with every stride, hitting the line hard, only to be dennied by a length and a quarter. He beat the rest of the field easily. There are more wins in store for this promising son of Husson. Friday 18th October Kembla GrangeAnatomic – 3rd: Ricki collected yet another place getters cheque with a solid 3rd over 1400m. Ridden by Jason Collett, Ricki sat outside the leader and hit the front at the 250m. Whilst fighting on gallantly he was overhauled by a couple of backmarkers.

Saturday 22nd June
Newcastle
Hypernicus – 1st:
“Hoss” debuted in the finest possible style, attacking the line to win by 3/4 length at the juicy odds of $97.90! Settling back worse than midfield, “Hoss” had to change course a number of times in the straight to find clear galloping room, and flew over the final 100m to score a commanding win.

Acropolis – 4th:
“Bob” got back much further than anticpated in the Class 1 1300m however worked home well to run fourth. Bob will strip fitter from the run and be hard to beat when he next lines up.

Wednesday 19th June
Canterbury
Majestic Reign – 4th “King” resumed in the 3yo Colts and Geldings Maiden over 1250m. Settling 4th in the small field, King wroked home fairly on the Heavy 8 rated track . Hugh Bowman had a sound opinion of Majectic Reign and will be hard to beat next start.

Saturday 6th June
Kembla Grange
Carbonite – 1st: “Rabbit” atoned for his narrow defeat on debut, with a brilliant display of speed. Running his opposition off their feet, Rabbit never looked like getting run down despite a wide barrier. There looks to be more wins in store for Rabbit.

Hyperium – 4th:
“Teddy” ran a game race behind his speedy stablemate, Hyperium. It looked as though the stablemates would run the quinella until to final couple of strides, when the 59kg took it’s toll. It won’t be long before Teddy breaks his Maiden status.  Phat Cash – 2nd: “Jodie” produced her best effort yet in her short racing career working home well down the outside from the rear of the field. Jodie is still learning her race craft and will be better suited as she steps up in distance, and it should not take her long to win her Maiden.

Sunday 26th May
Nowra
Phat Cash – 4th:
“Jodie” debuted for the stable with a good effort to run 4th on an unsuitable track. Off the bit throughout the race Jodie battled on well in the quagmire conditions and will be better suited back on top of the ground.

Saturday 18th May
Kembla Grange
Carbonite – 2nd:
“Rabbit” went within a millimetre of making the perfect debut. From barrier 9 Rabbit showed good speed to cross and lead. In a deceptive finish it looked as though Rabbit had held off the challenge of the eventual winner but was denied by the bearest of margins. It was a further 4 lengths back to the third horse. Rabbit has a promising career ahead of him. Hyperium – 3rd “Teddy” resumed as a gelding with a good 3rd in the 1200m Maiden. Again, not helped by a wide barrier, Teddy raced 3 deep outside the leaders, however fought on quite well. A good effort and should not be too long before Teddy finds the winners circle.

Sunday 28th April
Nowra
Aphroditis – 3rd
“Aphro” again ran her usual honest race. In a race of mishaps with a false start and two late scratchings, Aphro settled at the rear of field and made good ground to run a solid 3rd off a slow tempo.

Saturday 6th April
Goulburn
Irish Rocks – 4th:
“Rocky” stepped up to the 2140m at Goulburn and produced his best run yet. Settling 4th in the running, Rocky stormed to the front soon after straightening for home, however was overhauled by the back markers. He battled on well to run 4th at his first step up in distance this preparation.

Saturday 30th March
Moruya
Irish Rocks – 4th:
“Rocky” didn’t have the best of luck in the Class 1 / Maiden Plate over 1650m. Whilst travelling 4th one off the fence during the run, Rocky was shuffled back to the rear of the field around the home turn. Once he balanced up he hit the line gamely giving the impression a step up in distance would be ideal.

Sunday 31st March
Nowra
Aphroditis – 4th:
“Aphro” ran her usual honest race over1400m. Briefly held up for a run around the home turn Aphro worked home well in a strong field and isn’t too far away from another win.

Wednesday 6th March
Randwick meeting @ NewcastleSkyway – 1st: “Duke” made it two wins from two starts for the stable, this time in a mid week city race for 3yo Colts & Geldings over 1400m. Despite coming back in distance and going up in the weights to 59kg. Skyway dominated in an impressive all the way victory, again under the guidance of Mitchell Bell. “Duke” continues to improve and reeled off an impressive last 600m of 33.92 seconds.

Friday 22nd February
GoulburnBokarina – 2nd:
“Nugget” showed a return to form with a fast finishing 2nd in the Class 3 over 1400m. Nugget over raced badly at Kembla last Saturday in a small field with no speed and the blinkers on; however with the blinkers off and a 6 day back up and a better tempo up front “Nugget” powered to the line under the guidance of Grant Buckley to just miss notching up win number 4. A return to the winners circle is not far away.

 Saturday 9th February
Newcastle
Skyway – 1st: “Duke” made an impressive debut for the stable with a determined win in the Class 1 over 1500m at Newcastle. After leading for the first half of the race, Duke was headed in the straight but fought back doggedly under the guidance of Mitchell Bell. Duke has a lot of upside, recording his second win at start 9 and will continue to improve.

Saturday 5th January
Kembla Grange
Anatomic- 3rd: “Ricki” has been a model of consistency since joining the stable and put in another solid performance at his first go at 1600m.

Leading the field, Ricki fought on extremely well to be beaten just over 1/2 length. Irish Rocks- 5th: “Rocky” made a very pleasing debut for the stable. Lining up in a 1300m Maiden at his first start for 11 months, it was expected Rocky would need the run and find his competition a bit too slick over the 1300m. From barrier 1, Rocky began well and box seated in the run. He raced a bit fresh and whilst tiring over the final 50m, his good 5th placing showed there are better things in store as he steps up to more suitable distances.

Monday 31st December
Nowra
Bokarina- 4th:
“Nugget” stepped up to 1400m in the Benchmark 50. With Jon Grisedale in the saddle Nugget relaxed well in the second half of the field from the outside barrier and worked home solidly to run a good 4th beaten 2.5 lengths. Nugget should go close to winning his next assignment over 1400m.

Friday 21st December
Canterbury
Anatomic – 3rd: “Ricki” produced a very courageous performance stepping up to city grade. Under the guidance of Kathy O’Hara Ricki had to do some work early to get to the front. He gave a good kick on the home turn and dug in deep when the eventual winner went past him. A good effort which showed a city win is not out of his reach.

Sunday 16th December
Hawkesbury Inner Track
Sparton – 4th:
“Sparton” produced his best run since joining the stable. Sitting just off the speed Jason Collett popped Sparton out three wide coming to the 700m. Left slilghtly flat footed when the leader sprinted Sparton continued to wind up and worked home fairly suggesting a step up in journey next start will suit him ideally.

Sunday 9th December
Hawkesbury Inner Track
Anatomic – 2nd: “Ricki” produced a bold front running effort when stepping up to 1500m for the first time in the Class 2 Handicap. Whilst Ricki had to do a bit of work early to take up the running he fought on reasonably well to beat all bar the favourite. Ricki was ridden by Jon Grisedale and is not far off breaking through for another win.
Tuesday 6th November
Nowra
Left Right Centre – 4th:
“Ally” ran her usual honest race. Box seating behind the leaders, Ally briefly hit the lead half down the straight and fought on well to be beaten 2.5 lengths. Sunday 21st OctoberNowraAphroditis – 1st: “Aphro” broke through for her well deserved Maiden win over 1400m. Well back in the field and caught three wide (with cover) the entire trip, Aphro was the widest runner on the home turn and was too good for her rivals streaking away to win by 1 14 lengths. Aphro was ridden by apprentice Winona Costin.

Sunday 30th September
Cootamundra
Left Right Centre – 1st: “Ally” was resuming from a spell over 1100m. Drawing barrier 1, apprentice Winona Costin kept kicking up on the rail and made the favoured runners work from their wide draw. Ally had too much in the tank for her rivals and won well. Their is still plenty of improvement in Ally which suggests more wins are in store!

Saturday 29th September
Kembla Grange
Aphroditis – 4th: “Aprho” was stepping up in Class when she lined up in a 1300m Fillies and Mares Maiden at Kembla Grange however aquitted herself well and was unluckly not to finish closer than her final margin of 1.9 lengths. From barrier 1, Aphro was unable to get into the clear until the final 150m of the race and hit the line hard once clear. A win for this lightly race Dehere mare is not far off.

Sunday 16th September
Gundagai
Aphroditis – 2nd: “Aphro” was having her first start for the stable in the Maiden Hcp over 1180m. Ridden by Kembla Grange apprentice, Winona Costin, Aphro settled at the rear of the field but saved ground rounding the home turn to beat all bar the odds on favourite. It was a solid effort and there is still plenty of improvement in Aphroditis; so it should not be long before she salutes for her Maiden win.

Tuesday 7th August
Goulburn
Bokarina – 3rd: “Nugget” stepped out is a classy line up over 1400m at Gouburn following a month’s freshen up. With replacement rider, Nathan Berry in the saddle, Nugget travelled well in the race from barrier 1. However Nathan was unable to push out when he needed to and was boxed in on the fence until the race was all but over. Finally getting a split with 150m to go, Nugget powered to the line, and whilst well beaten should have finished a clear second. Nathan Berry was very happy with the effort once Nugget got into the clear and indicated there are better races in store for the El Moxie gelding.

Saturday 21st July
Kembla Grange
Park Central – 3rd:
“Benny” proved his 2nd placing three weeks ago was no fluke with a very gallant third in the 1400m Entires & Geldings Maiden Hcp.  Drawing a wide barrier, Benny did a lot of work early being caught three deep outside the leader on a good speed. Lauri Wray was able to get Benny to settle in behind the two leaders at the 900m. Benny should great tenacity in the straight to fight back and hold off the challengers for third position.  Benny will learn a great deal from the run and will continue to improve.

Saturday 30th June
Kembla Grange
Park Central – 2nd:
“Benny” was resuming from a spell in the Maiden Plate over 1300m. Taking up his customary position rolling along if front, Benny gave plenty of cheek all the way up the straight, showing good fight and determination to run a very good second. Benny has matured and it shouldn’t take him too long to break into the winners circle. Jon Grisedale had the ride.

 Saturday 16th June
Goulburn
Doll of Kintyre – 4th: “Dolly” debuted for the stable with a very good 4th at Goulburn in the 1000m Maiden Hcp. Starting from barrier 14 in the 14 horse field on a track that was deteriorating and a Heavy 8 by race time, Dolly pushed forward to sit outside the leader. Dolly fought on well down the straight, and whilst not entirely at home on the Heavy track performed very well.

Sunday 6th May
Sapphire Coast
Left Right Centre – 4th:
Ally earnt her first prizemoney cheque with a gutsy 4th in the 1200m Maiden at her 2nd race start. Settling just behind the leaders, Ally had to push her way through a narrow gap and kept digging deep. She will benefit greatly from the experience and will return next preparation as a more mature filly.

Sunday 29th April
Goulburn
It’s Hell On Heels – 4th: Seven was having her first run in 6 weeks when she lined up in the Class 2 over 1400m. In a race where the speed was slow, Seven settled reasonably well but the leaders had to much of a kick for her to run down. Seven battled on well for 4th and will strip fitter from this outing.

Saturday 21st April
Kembla Grange
Bokarina – 3rd:
Nugget lined up in the Benchmark 60 over 1400m facing a much tougher assignment than his easy last start win at Goulburn. However, Nugget again performed very well. Settling mid field with cover he did pull a bit too hard early in the race given a slow tempo, however he peeled out at the top of the straight and worked to the line gamely to run a very good third. If he had not have pulled quite so hard early in the race he would have challenged the winner. All in all a very creditable performance and another prizemoney cheque for the connections of this very honest gelding.

Wednesday 11th April
Goulburn
Bokarina – 1st:
Nugget was on the quick three day back up following a 5th beaten 0.8 lengths at Nowra on Sunday. The back up definitely didn’t do any harm with Nugget settling well back in the field, and with a good pace on, he tracked into the race nicely hitting the lead with 200m to go and careering away to win by 3.5 lengths in class record time. Another very good Jon Grisedale ride!

Monday 19th March
Bathurst
Copy This – 2nd:
Brodie was only having his third race start and went within a whisker of winning, diving on the line to be denied in a photo finish. With a horse playing up in the barriers outside of him, he missed the start and raced well back in the field. Jon Grisedale saved ground into the home straight staying on the fence, and whilst still racing a bit greenly Brodie kept coming and attacked the line late only to just miss out. Brodie will continue to improve with race experience and is not far off saluting for his first win.

Bokarina – 4th:
Nugget was having his second run back from a spell, albeit a month apart due to the weather. Nugget was superbly ridden by Jon Grisedale, settling back in the field and storming down the outside and hit the line in a tight four way finish. The photo finish’s were not going our way on the day, and Nugget ran 4th despite being only narrowly beaten. It was a super run, and Nugget showed is in right on track to give his next start a good shake.

Saturday 3rd March
Gosford
Zip N Zizz – 4th:
Zizz picked up his first prizemoney cheque with a fair 4th on an unsuitable Heavy track. Zizz was to have raced over 1400m, however when this meeting was transferred to Gosford the race was shortened to 1200m. Ridden by Neil Paine, Zizz settled towards the rear of the field and battled away for 4th.

Friday 17th February
Goulburn
It’s Hell On Heels – 1st:
A good barrier, a drier track, a genuinly run race and a rider who knew her was all Seven needed to record her second career win … in impressive style! Settling towards the rear of the field with good speed on, Jon Grisedale had Seven tracking into the race nicely round the turn. She was held up behind horses which were going no where for the early part of the home straight, but once Jon was able to get Seven to the outside she produced a good turn of foot and careered away to win by 2.3 lengths. This is a glimpse of the ability she has always shown us and win no 3 should not be far away!

Saturday 11th February
Moruya
Royal Rory – 2nd:
Rory started favourtie in teh Maiden Plate over 1650m. She was slow out of the gates as usual, however once getting into her stride worked around the field to take up the lead after a couple of hundred metres. Tyring for home with a good break, it looked as though she would notch up her first win, however the Heavy track conditions were not to her liking and the topwieght who ploughed through the conditions was too good on the day. It was a further 5 3/4 lengths back to the third horse. Rory will step up to 2000m now and hopefully find a firmer track.

It’s Hell On Heels – 4th:
Seven will stepped up to 1400m for the first time and settled quite well in the run, despite being three wide facing the breeze for most of the trip. Seven worked into the race well, however she too failed to handle the heavy track conditions, and whilst she tried hard could not close the gap. Seven may back up over 1400m at Goulburn on Friday, hopefully on a firmer track.

Monday 9th January
Moruya
It’s Hell On Heels – 4th:
Starting from an outside gate “Seven” settled at the rear of the field, and whilst held up working into the straight, hit the line strongly when in the clear. Seven is settling well and racing like a step up in journey will be right up her alley.

Saturday 31st January
Nowra
Royal Rory – 4th: Rory returned from a spell with a very pleasing effort over 1200m. Beaten for early speed as expected, Rory settled at the rear of the field. Rory picked up the bit at the 600m and travelled into the race well and gave solid chase down the outside to be beaten only 1.2 lengths. Rory is not too far away from knocking off her first win!

Friday 11th November
Gundagai
It’s Hell On Heels – 4th:
Ridden by Andrew Bloomfield, Seven settled at the rear of the field on the back of a good pace. Seven worked into the race well, and was held up slightly into the straight. Once she pushed her way out, she worked home steadily once in the clear to run a sound 4th. Seven is settling well and looking for more ground now. A sound second up effort.

Saturday 8th October
Kembla Grange
Bokarina – 4th: “Nugget” produced yet another honest effort to collect his 5th successive prizemoney cheque. In the small field Nugget clearly jumped the best but was restrained to the rear of the field. With little pace in the race, Nugget pulled hard during the race and towed jockey Jon Grisedale up to the leaders rounding the home turn. Whilst hitting the front in the straight, Nugget’s pulling early in the race combined with a Heavy 9 track, took it’s toll late and he battled on well to run 4th beaten only 1.7 lengths. With an ounce of luck Nugget is not far away from knocking off another win at Kembla!

Tuesday 20th September
Nowra
Royal Rory – 3rd:  “Rory” stepped back up to the mile, and whilst expecting her to race handy, Rory walked out of the gates and settled worse than mid field. Under vigourous riding Rory kept finding the find to be beaten only 1.5 lengths.

Bokarina- 4th:  “Nugget” stepped up to the 1600m for the first time this preparation, and produced another sound effort. Settling beautifully throughout the run, Willie probably hit the “go” button a little to soon. Hitting the front at the top of the straight, Nugget fought on well, but could not hold of the challenge of a couple of the back markers. A good effort to be beaten 1.8 lengths.

Sunday 11th September
Moruya
Royal Rory – 3rd:  “Rory”produced a solid effort to pick up another 3rd placing. Dropping back to the 1425m, Rory was beaten for speed early but was able to work into an off pace position throughout the run. Rory stuck to her task and kept grinding away to the line to run third beaten a length and a half. Rory will be better suited over the 1600m and is likely to head to Nowra on the 20th September.

Bokarina- 4th:
“Nugget” produced yet another good run. Settling much better in his races, barrier 1 proved to be a nemisis, with Nugget stuck on the fence and unable to work into the race and gain momentum when he needed to. Left a bit flat footed when the field sprinted, Nugget wound up and was hitting the line strongly to be beaten 2 lengths. Nugget is giving every indication he will get over further and now that he is settling better in his races he is likely to head to Nowra on the 20th September over 1600m.

Friday 26th AugustBathurstBokarina: 1st:  “Nugget” finally stepped back into the winners circle with an impressive win at Bathurst in the Benchmark 50 over 1400m. Having run an unlucky 3rd at Kembla only 6 days earlier, Grant Buckley reunited with Nugget to produce a well timed finishing burst to claim victory in the shadows of the post. Settling at the rear of the field, Buckley tracked the favourite into the race, and peeled out to be the widest runner in the straight. Nugget knuckled down to the task well and stuck his head out where it mattered to claim victory by a head. Having been beaten by the same margin in two starts this preparation it was good to see Nugget finally previal for career win number 2!

Saturday 20th August
Kembla Grange
Bokarina: 3rd:
“Nugget” produced a much improved performance in the Benchmark 60 over 1300m. Ridden “cold” by Grant Buckley, Nugget settled at the rear of the field and wove his way through the field down the straight to work home solidly to collect 3rd prizemoney. He was very unlucky not to have run 2nd and to have challenged the winner. Hopefully another win is not too far away!

Tuesday 2nd August
Nowra
Royal Rory: 3rd:
“Rory” picked up her first prizemoney cheque in the Maiden over 1600m. Despite being slowly away, Rory worked up outside the leader under hard riding and battled well the entire length of the straight. This was a good effort considering Rory was not at home in the bog conditions and suffered interference at the 200m and the 50m. Rory is slowly learning about the racing caper and will continue to improve with each run.

Friday 15th July
Moruya
Bokarina: 4th:
“Nugget” ran a much improved race. With Kevin Sweeney in the saddle, Nugget settled nicely during the run, settling at the rear of the field. Whilst not getting a lot of room early in the straight, Nugget ran on strongly once clear and made up many lengths, but was giving away to much start. All in all a creditable performance to pick up a minor prizemoney cheque.

Friday 8th July
Nowra
It’s Hell On Heels – 1st:
“Seven” ended a frustrating run of “good but not good enough” efforts to notch up her first win! Settling beautifully at the rear of the field, Seven was aided by a masterful ride by Kevin Sweeney to dive back to the inside rounding the home turn. She burst through to hit the lead half way up the straight and put a couple of lengths on the field and was holding them comfortably on the line to win by a length. Now that Seven has broken through and starting to do things right in her races it shouldn’t be too long before she adds to her winning tally.

Sunday 29th May
Nowra
Bokarina – 2nd :
“Nugget” again went within a head of capturing his second career win. Ridden beautifully by Brett Poulus, Nugget settled mid field and relaxed superbly in the run. He produced a strong sprint down the outside over the final 200m but the winning post came a stride too soon, beaten in a photo. A win is definitely not too far off. Nugget has earned the chance to have a crack at a mid week city race over 1250m on the 8th June at Canterbury, or will go to Goulburn on the 10th June for a Class 1 over 1400m.

It’s Hell On Heels: 4th
“Seven” produced one of her best efforts in the Maiden 1200m. Tracking the leaders into the straight, Patrick Murphy was forced to hit the front on straightening as the leaders were stopping. Seven sprinted well, putting a couple of lengths on the field, but got a little lost in front and was swamped in the shadows of the post, to be beaten in a photo finish for 2nd, 3rd and 4th. This was a much better effort, and Seven is slowly putting it altogether. Her next assignment is likely to be a 1200m Maiden for Fillies and Mares at Kembla Grange on Saturday 11th June.

Tuesday 3rd May
Kembla Grange
Bokarina: 2nd
Nugget” produced a super run second up from a spell to only go under by a long head at the juicy odds of $71! Superbly ridden by NZ apprentice Jason Collett, Nugget was positioned mid field with cover and worked home gamely to just miss collecting the winners cheque. It’s Hell On Heels: 4th  “Seven” was also superbly ridden by Jason Collett, however was a bit dissappointing in the run to line. Jason was happy with her, stating she is looking for further and was not entirely comfortably on the wet, shifty track.

Saturday 2nd April
Kembla Grange
It’s Hell On Heels: 3rd
“Seven” picked up her first prizemoney cheque with a very good third in a 1200m Maiden. Beginning from the outside barrier, Seven shifted in abruptly on jumping, so jockey Patrick Murphy elected to obtain cover which saw Seven settling at the rear of the field. Seven still wanted to overrace a touch, and tracked the winner into the race coming around the field. Seven finished off well in the straight. This was a good learning expereince for Seven and there is plenty of upside to her as her racing manners improve. Patrick Murphy was very happy with the effort and has a “good opinion” of Seven!

Monday 10th January
Nowra
Love Changes: 4th
“Romeo” returned to Nowra in a Class 2 over 1400m. Ridden superbly by Kevin Sweeney, Romeo was slowly away when his barrier was slow to open. however Sweeney gave him the run of the race and when he charged through the field to join the leaders he looked as though he was going to win. However once hitting the front, Romeo decided he had done enough andput the brakes on, running fourth beaten only 2.5 lengths. This was a somewhat frustrating performance and we have a bit of work to do with Romeo to gethim to have that “will to win” as he has the ability to win his share of races.

Sunday 12th December
Hawkesbury
Malabar Rose: 2nd:
“Gai” was very unlucky not to break through for a win. Driven to the lead, Gai kicked clear on the turn into the short Hawkesbury straight and was holding her lead, until she almost fell with 175m go. Her head hit the ground and she picked herself up to run a clear second. This was a brave effort, especially considering she injured herself when nearly falling. “Gai” has now gone for a spell, with their being plenty to look forward to when she returns.

Saturday 27th November
Moruya
Bokarina: 2nd:
“Nugget” continues to race consistently well with a brave second at Moruya. Casey Dredge had him positioned beautifully in the run, but was forced to make his move rounding the home turn as one of the leaders started to fall back in his lap. The eventual winner tracked Nugget throughout the race, and whilst Nugget fought hard, coming back to put his head in front after being headed by the winner; the winner was a touch too strong on the line. The margin was a long neck. Nugget will have one more run on the 10th December before having a well earned break over Christmas!

Saturday 13th November
Kembla Grange
Bokarina: 4th:  “Nugget” put in another solid performance to be beaten less than a length. In a similar scenario to his last start at Goulburn, Nugget took up the lead in the small field. He showed great fight down the entire 400m straight, and was holding onto 2nd place until the final bound. Nugget’s next assignment is likely to be a Class 2 over 1425m at Moruya on Saturday 27th November.

Friday 29th October
Goulburn
Bokarina: 2nd:  “Nugget” stepped up to the 1600m for the first time, and was only run down by the odds on favourite over the concluding stages. With no speed in the race, Andy Bloomfield had little choice but to letNugget roll to the front. He settled well, howeer had a tendancy to switch off and wait for the field down the straight. Nugget is much better having something to chase, however we were very happy with his effort at his first attempt over the 1600m.

Sunday 26th September
Moruya
Bound For Dubai: 1st
“Spud” showed his last start win at Canberra was no fluke with another all the way win at Moruya. Stepping up to the 1930m for the first time, “Spud” was well rated in front nby Andrew Bloomfield to score an impressive win. Bokarina: 1st  Bokarina then stepped out 35 minutes later to record a double for stable, for jockey Andrew Bloomfield and for the mare “Sand Dunes”. Despite starting from the outside barrier, Andy was able to get “Nugget” across to settle third, and cruised up to the leaders soon after straightening and then ran away from the opposition to record a comfortable  1 3/4 length win .. the first of many!!!

Friday 24th September
Canterbury (night)
Bon Dia: 5th:
“Derby” once again ran his usual honest race. Ridden a treat by Taylor – Lovelock Wiggins, Derby settled mid field. He was pushed out on the home turn by the eventual winner, which put him off balance, but once he balanced up he worked home solidly to collect another prizemoney cheque. Taylor was very happy with the effort and suggested “Derby” would be well suited in races up to 2400m!

Tuesday 14th September
Nowra
Bokarina: 3rd:
Bokarina settled much better for Kathy O’Hara on what was a bleak and miserable day to be at the races. With persistent rain all day, the meeting was lucky to go ahead on a very Heavy track. Bokarina was an unknown quantity in the wet, but handled the track reasonably well. The race was delayed by 10 minutes, due to a loose horse, and “Nugget” stood this whole time in the barriers and “went to sleep”. Jumping well, Kathy let “Nugget” find his feet, and he settled well back in the field. He ran on very strongly in the straight, but was giving the leaders too much head start. This was a very pleasing effort, and “Nugget” will relish a step up in journey.

Monday 6th September
Canberra Acton (transferred from Wagga)
Bound For Dubai: 1st:
Spud made an impressive return to the winners circle, leading all the way to record an easy 4 length win. Spud was stepping up to the 1750m for the first time, and was an unknown quantity on the Acton track. He was well ridden and beautifully rated in front from leading Riverina jockey Andrew Bloomfield. It was great to see “Spud” record such an emphatic win, as he has always shown above average ability, and judging by this effort, there are many more wins to come.

Saturday 4th September
Hawkesbury
Private Certifier: 4th:
Damian stepped up to provincial company on a bleak day which saw the Hawkesbury track downgraded to a Heavy 8. Whilst Damian is better suited on a bit firmer going, he ran a very good race. Despite being a little slow to gather speed out of the barriers, he rolled forward to sit outside the leader. Looking to be under pressure around the home turn, the leader skipped 3 lengths on him. However Damian gathered himself up and worked home gamely to be beaten 1.9 lengths and it can be argued that he should have finished 3rd, with Neil Paine having to take hold of Damian 50m before the line, when the 2nd placegetter ran in and took his rightful running. This was a great effort by Damian who was dropping back from the 2300m, and raced like a horse looking for the 2300m. Damian’s next start is likely to be on the first day of the Newcastle spring carnival, in a Benchmark 65 over 2300m (a race we won a couple of years ago with St Alessio!).

Wednesday 25th August
Canterbury
Bon Dia: 2nd:  “Derby” went within a whisker of notching up his first win, beaten by the narrowest of margins over 1900m. When they hit the post, most (including the cameraman) thought Derby had dived right on the line, however he went down by a nose. Derby settled a lot closer to the speed, and again ran on strongly. His maiden win is definitely not too far away, and he looks to be a nice stayer in the making.

Monday 23rd August
Goulburn
Private Certifier: 2nd:
“Damian” stepped up to the 2300m for the first time, after recording a tough win at Canberra last start. Damian sat off the leader and kicked clear turning for home, only to be run down by the favourite over the final 100m, but convincingly beating the rest of the field. The “old boy” is racing with great zest at the moment and looks to have found his niche over the staying distances.

Saturday 21st August
Kembla Grange
Bon Dia: 4th:
“Derby” produced a much better effort back on a firmer track, and yet again was unlucky not to finish closer. The 2000m race was run at a dawdling speed which did not give the back markers much hope, however under the urgings of Josh Adams, Derby finished strongly to be beaten 3 1/2 lengths. This was a good effort, with Derby tackling the 2000m for the first time and stepping up to Class 1 company.

Saturday 7th August
Canberra Acton Track
Private Certifier: 1st:
“Damian” kicked off the new racing season in fine style for the stable with a solid win at Canberra. Damian was meant to have run at the abandoned Nowra meeting on the 3rd August over 2200m, then this meeting was also scheduled for Nowra, but was transferred to the Canberra Acton track and the distance changed to 1750m. Damian sat outside the leader and moved up to hit the front half way down the straight, and despite the favourite trying to run him down, he was holding his margin to win by nearly 1/2 a length. Now a 9 year old, it was great to see the “old boy” salute for win number 7, and there may be more to follow!!! Damian was superbly ridden by Scott Pollard, who continues to have a great strike rate for the stable.

Tuesday 22nd June
Warwick Farm
Bon Dia: 3rd:
“Derby” proved his fantastic second at Newcastle last week was no fluke. Depsite blundering and nearly falling at the 1400m crossing and settling at the rear of the field, Kathy was able to save ground along the rails, but was still heldd up for a clear run until 250m from home. Derby weaved his way through the field and attacked the line as well as anything in the race to run a very good third beaten 2 lengths. Kathy O’Hara was full of praise for Derby, and is keen to stick with him, believing at step up in distance will see him knock of his Maiden in the near future.

Saturday 13th June
Newcastle
Bon Dia: 2nd:
“Derby” produced the best performance of his career with a fantastic 2nd at Newcastle. Ridden superbly by visiting NZ apprentice, Jason Collett, “Derby” settled at the rear of the field and produced the run of the race to work home gamely, beaten only 3/4 length. This was a great effort at only his second run from a spell and stepping up to the mile from 1200m. Derby has always shown this ability but has had little luck on race day,so it was great to see him deliver … and the place TAB price of $27 was a great result for those who had something each way! Derby may head to Warwick Farm on the 22nd June for a 3yo Maiden over 1600m.

Friday 23rd April
Nowra
Copy That: 3rd:
Another honest run by “Billy”. Settling at the back of the 6 horse field, “Billy” hooked to the outside and looked a chance of running down the leader, however was inclined to hang in down the straight on a track that was a bit too firm for his liking.

Sunday 11th April
Nowra
Copy That: Race: 4th
Another super effort from “Billy”. Suffering a check 300m after the start, Billy was shuffled back to the tail of the field. Billy then commenced a sustained run from the 600m around the field and worked home very well to run 4th in the Greenwell Point Cup. Billy’s effort gave every indication he is looking for more ground, and is likely to step up to 1600m on his home track at Kembla Grange on the 24th April.

Monday 1st March
Goulburn
Copy That: 2nd
Another very good performance by Copy That. Settling beautifully in the run, “Billy” looked as though he was going to go past the winner when Kathy got him into the clear soon after straightening for the run home. However, the  winner had pinched too big of a break with Billy not quite able to bridge the gap, but beat the rest of the handy field easily. This was only “Billy’s” third start for the stable for a win, a second and a third placing. Billy has come through the run well, and is likely to line up at Kembla Grange on the 13th March.

Saturday 6th February
Newcastle
Copy That: 3rd
Copy That produced another very good effort to run third beaten 3/4 length by a short head. Settling back in the field, Neil Paine commenced a long sustained run from the 850m when the pace slackened, and “Billy” fought on well. The result may well have been different if “Billy” had have been held up a bit longer, with the back markers swooping late. We were very pleased with his performance, with “Billy” showing a renewed zest for racing, and another win is not too far off.

Monday 18th January
Moruya
Copy That: 1st:
Having his first start for the stable, we expected a forwarded showing from the son of Over, however his last to first win was even more impressive than what we had expected. Despite jumping well, “Billy” dropped out to last early, then circled the field and after being the widest runner into the straight, cruised to the front and never looked like getting beaten. “Billy” coasted to line under the guidance of Neil Paine to record a length and three quarter victory. There looks to be plenty of more wins in store for this lightly raced 6 year old. “Billy” will step up to provincial or possibly even mid week city grade at his next start in approximately three to four weeks time.

Friday 11th December
Nowra
Bound For Dubai:
1stSpud was lining up for his first race start in 11 months. Drawing Barrier 2, Spud was a little slow to jump but was driven through to share the lead by Neil Paine. Rounding the home turn Spud was able to gain the lead and dug deep to fight off all challenges to win by a long head. This was a fantastic effort by the son of Secret Savings, who has now had 4 starts for a win and two seconds. Spud will also derive a lot of benefit from the run in terms of fitness and experience, and it looks likely another win is not far off. Congratualtions to all of the owners, for many of whom this was their first winner; and thank you to all of the owners for the patience you have shown with Spud … the benefits are only just starting!

Wednesday 11th November
Bong Bong
Puki: 2nd
Puki was a little slow to begin, but settled well behind a pretty solid tempo in front. Puki gave chase solidly down the short home straight, but couldn’t quite reel in the leader and was beaten 1 length. This was another good effort by the daughter of Tabkir at only her 6th career start, and a good afternoon was enjoyed out by Trevor, John and Trent who came to support Puki.

Tuesday 3rd November
Nowra
Puki: 1st
Despite putting on a display in the mounting yard prior to the race, Puki won the jump clearly and landed a length in front of the field. Despite being the only maiden in the Class 1 field, Puki was rated beautifully by Neil Paine in front and hung on to win in a photo finish. This was a great effort from Puki, first up from a spell at only her 5th career start.

Friday 25th September – Moruya
Hole In One: 1st:
“Tiger” finally had everything in his favour, a good track, decent barrier and a well judged ride; to deliver a well deserved win. Settling just worse than midfield, Tiger stormed down the outside and whilst at the 300m looked like running a good second to the tearaway leader, Tiger knuckled down and made a dive at the line to win by a nose. Scott Pollard rode a great race, and it was good to see Tiger notch up another win and pass the $50000 mark in prizemoney. Congratulations to David, Cory, Jarrod and Robert who finally got their first winner up as owners, and also to Richard, Casey and Craig who celebrated their second win with Hole In One. Tiger’s next assignment is likely to be an 1800m Benchmark 60 race at Bathurst on the 7th October or a 2100m Benchmark 65 race at Gosford on the 8th October.
