Arrows Destiny in a deadheat for the Batemans Bay Cup

Arrow’s Destiny once again found the winners circle in dead heating to win the Bateman’s Bay Cup at Moruya on the 28th September.

Theresa Bateup’s Arrows Destiny, ridden by Winona Costin, was impressive, being among the leaders for the majority of the race before fading slightly down the stretch.

Race officials deliberated on the result for almost five minutes before officially declaring a dead heat.

Danny Williams’ O’lordy finished in third position, less than half a length behind the winners, and Michael Gatty’s Dashtorush finished in fourth position.

The race was so tight that the top six horses were all within a length of the two winners, and was the only race of the day where the top-two horses were ridden by female jockeys.

I am so proud of our boy, Arrows Destiny, in dead heating to win the Batemans Bay Cup at Moruya today. This was one of my most treasured moments on the race track seeing Arrow try his heart out in loving memory of Sarah. I am sure Sarah was there in spirit and she will always be a part of Arrow. Thank you Winona Costin and to my fantastic team of staff
