November kicked off in the best possible fashion with The Guru toughing it out in a fighting finish to win The Agency Handicap BenchMark 70 at Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day over 2000m.
It was a well deserved win for The Guru, who has been racing very consistently. It was fantastic to have a big representation of owners in attendance (and sensational to watch our owners cheering and their post-race celebrations … we definitely have a very vocal and flamboyant group of owners).
The Guru’s win also finally delivered our first Royal Randwick winner (after many, many placings) so we can now tick off wins at all 4 metropolitan tracks!!! I can’t thank our staff and owners enough for all of their hard work and support, thank you!!!
