March Highlights

Foxtrot Bravo had the biggest win of his career when he won the Stayers Cup at Kembla Grange on Classic Day!!  Now a 7yo, Fox has been racing in great heart this preparation. The only blight on his record was a forgive run at Orange in a race that was not run to suit.

On the quick 4 day back up, Fox relished the 2400m on his home track and came down the outside for Jess Taylor to claim his 5th career win and take his career earnings well past $200k (a good return for a $3k Scone Yearling purchase!). He then headed back to Albury for his third attempt in the Adrian Ledger Memorial over 2400m and ran well to finish 4th with 59.5kg.

We had the Hannan Vale Cup at Taree in our grasp for a few minutes on the 26th March. Victory At Omaha led all the way for Jess Taylor and held off the heavily backed Oakfield Redgum to “win” by a head. However Bro shied at the winning post in the last couple of strides contacting the second horse and lost the race on protest. It was one of those decisions that could have gone either way however on the day it didn’t go our way. I am still immensely proud of Bro who has developed into a tough and consistent racehorse. He continues to add to the list of winners for underrated stallion The Brothers War who will be represented by the now Stakes winning Bandi’s Boy in the Country Championship final on Saturday.

We also had a couple of other close 2nd placings with Alan looking home at Sapphire Coast in the Pambula Cup before just getting pipped on the line by one coming right down the outside. Macquarie Miss was also just beaten a head at Moruya on the 30th March.

Vain Invader produced a super effort in the heat of the Provincial Championships qualifier at Newcastle, finishing 3rd to the highly promising and likely final favourite, Tavi Time.

Victory At Omaha gave a bold sight at Kembla on the 15th March just getting run over in the final stages to record another 3rd placing. Destined To Dream claimed her first placing at her third race start when running 3rd at Sapphire Coast on the 23rd March whilst Stone Lizzie also finished 3rd and Alligator Rose ran 3rd at her debut run.

We have said farewell to a number of our stable stalwarts this month with the likes of The Guru, Alan and Steve Steve being retired.
