What a fantastic month the stable had with a massive 7 winners for the month!
November started in fine style on Melbourne Cup Day when Vain Invader broke his Maiden at Kembla Grange. He followed this up with another determined win at Kembla on the 12th November (ridden on both occasions by Winona Costin).
Shaka Rock was back in the winner’s circle at Sapphire Coast on the 3rd November (for apprentice Olivia Chambers). This proved to be a confidence boosting win for the very handsome Shaka. He has since followed it up with a 2nd placing at Hawkesbury in a Heat of the Summer Provincial Series and was again back in the winners stall at Hawkesbury on the 30th November with a well-judged ride by Amy McLucas. Shaka now heads to the Final of the Summer Provincial Series at Hawkesbury on the 15th December.
One of the most memorable wins of the month was when Brock Ryan produced an absolute gem of a ride on The Guru at Canterbury on the 11th November. Brock deservedly received the Black Bookers “Ride of the Week” for his effort! It was great to see Guru back in the winners stall, and we definitely had the loudest and most excited group of owners on and off course!
We also achieved a double at our “home away from home”, Sapphire Coast, on the 28th November, with the super consistent, Hope Uno, bringing up her second win for the preparation for Jess Taylor and Luckyimwithaimee broke through for her Maiden win at start number 3 for Robyn Freeman and a very patient group of owners!
Hope Uno, Moon Stories, Stone Lizzie and Pindarra’s Dream all made it onto the podium with 3rd placings through the month.
This year has flown by so quickly and I cannot believe how quickly Christmas and the New Year are approaching. From the whole of the Bateup Racing Team we extend our best wishes to you and your families as a challenging year (with excessive wet weather, floods and Covid etc) draws to a close. Once again I thank you for your support and look forward to celebrating many more achievements in 2023!
