Wet weather has played havoc with race meetings during the month. We copped well over 400mls at Kembla. However the benefit of having a synthetic training track is that our horses don’t miss any work. Upgrade work on the B grass continues and whilst behind schedule is progressing.
Tartana has returned in impressive fashion this preparation. She added a second win this time in when saluting impressively at Kembla Grange in a 1400m Class 1. “Dolly” has not put a foot wrong this preparation. She won first up at Gosford, before a gallant 3rd on a heavy track at Muswellbrook and then added the Kembla win. She is building a nice resume with 10 starts for 2 wins, 3 seconds and 3 third placings.

Rubilace produced an impressive performance at Warwick Farm on the 8th May, She was reeling in the winner but just missed to finish 2nd by 0.19 of a length in very heavy conditions in a $100k Super Maiden. “Anna” has always shown nice ability. With only 2 starts under her belt for a 2nd and 3rd both in Super Maidens, she is already a metro placegetter. It shouldn’t take long for Anna to break through for her Maiden win.
Machination was very gallant at Wagga on the 31st May finishing 4th (beaten in a photo for 3rd) on a Heavy track. Mac has only been to the races twice and on both occasions has struck heavy tracks. Mac is definitely not at home on the heavy conditions but possesses a great attitude. He won’t be far off winning his Maiden when he gets on top of the ground
