July Highlights

July was a bit of a frustrating month to end the 2022 / 2023 racing season. We finished the month with 5 x 2nd placings!!!

Vain Invader was a super performance at Randwick on the 15th July when finishing 2nd in the Midway over 1600m.

On the same day at Wagga, Skaifee looked home when he kicked clear only to be run down in the final strides. This followed another gallant 2nd at Taree on the 6th July.

Super Kontiki was beaten a mere 0.05 of a length at Wagga on the 24th July. Densaur also added a 2nd placing at Kembla Grange on the 27th July.

The well-travelled Foxtrot Bravo hit the line strongly to finish 3rd at Wellington on the 31st July and Gunnaheadovski debuted with an eye catching 4th placing at Kensington.

Our 2022/3 Racing Season

We finished the season with 22.5 winners, 23.5 x 2nd placings, 24.5 3rd placings and 37.5 x 4th placings and a total of $848,835 in prizemoney.

The winners roll for the season was: Victory At Omaha (3), Hope Uno (3), Skaifee (3), Shaka Rock (2), Vain Invader (2), Super Kontiki (2), Luckyimwithaimee, Alan, Steve Steve Steve, Crackalacka, Foxtrot Bravo, Eberlee, Skye’s Legacy and The Guru.

Our winning jockeys were: Jess Taylor (5), Olivia Chambers (4), Winona Costin (3), Mick Travers (3), Molly Bourke (2), Robyn Freeman (2), Brock Ryan, Nick Heywood, Amy McLucas and Anna Roper.

We covered plenty of the country side throughout the year with winners at: Sapphire Coast, Kembla Grange, Moruya, Wagga, Canterbury, Goulburn, Nowra, Tamworth, Gosford and Narrandera. We also had placings at Rosehill, Randwick, Hawkesbury, Kensington, Albury, Taree and Wellington.

Skaifee won the Horse of the Year Title at Sapphire Coast. We also finished 2nd on the Trainers Premiership, 1 win behind the Joseph and Jones Team (… which was not a bad effort considering the Country Boosted restrictions meant that we were ineligible to contest 30% of the races!).

Crackalacka won the Moruya Cup and has qualified for The Big / Little Dance at Randwick in November.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with the stable (including our owners, families, staff, farriers, vets, chiropractors, dentists, breakers, pre trainers, spelling providers, transport drivers, suppliers and our loyal followers and supporters). We look forward to raising the bar in 2023/24 with some exciting things happening within the stable and some lovely young horses progressing through the ranks.

Finally a big “Happy Birthday” to all of our stable stars who turned another year older on the 1st August!

The breeding season is once again quickly upon us and we look forward to the arrival of our foals due this season with Titaness and Fleeting Stryke both in foal to Sandbar (the ¾ brother to Farnan) and Rose of Scarlet in foal to Prized Icon.
