After another month of rain and wet tracks, we are glad to see the sun again. Hopefully the rain stays away for a while!!!
Our racing team have been doing a good job with 3 winners and a number of placegetters for the month
April kicked off with a winning double at Sapphire Coast courtesy of Eberlee and Moon Stories whilst Madison’s Missile saluted at Wagga.
Divine Breath was fantastic in running 2nd in the Midway at Randwick on the 16th April. Madison’s Missile was just beaten to finish 2nd at Nowra on the 26th April and My Alma, Alan and Ma Bella Rosie all added 3rd placings. Eberlee and Real Key were also very good in finishing 4th at Warwick Farm on Easter Monday while Alan and Halliday Road finished 2nd and 3rd respectively at Sapphire Coast last Sunday.
We don’t have a large team racing at the moment but we do have a lot of horses getting close to racing.. Jump outs and trials have been getting cancelled due to the wet weather making things difficult. However, Kembla staged 3 horse jump outs on the Polytrack last week with 11 of our team going around.Hopefully with a fine week, these will be followed by trials and jump outs on the 11th May. A number of our horses should then be back at the races towards the end of the month including Steve Steve Steve, Victory At Omaha, Stryke Em Onesie and Hope Uno . We are also looking forward to some debutantes kicking off their careers including Inspired Dream, Celtic Moon and Live Fearlessly.
Sunday May 1st was the Inglis HTBA Yearling Sale at Riverside. We had a number of owners in attendance and enjoyed a great day out. Not only that, we were also able to secure 6 more yearlings to join our team!!! I am very excited by the yearlings we purchased.
I was able to secure some of my top picks in the sale including a Star Turn / Londinium filly, Rubick / Anelace filly, Hellbent / Mistress O’Reilly Colt, Written By / It’s A Diva filly as well as a Real Steel / West of Katrina Colt and Bull Point / Beg filly. These yearlings will all head straight to Kooringal Stud and then go to Darrell Burnet for breaking in. Details on each of the yearlings can be found in our Ownership Opportunities at the end of this Newsletter.
In the month ahead, we are likely to be heading to the Wagga Cup Carnival on the 6th May with Freaky Freckles and Eberlee in the Queen of the South and Madison’s Missile in a Class 3 Handicap.. The following weekend, the plan at this stage is to head to the Scone Stand Alone Metropolitan Meeting with Monegal being aimed at the Dark Jewel Classic and Divine Breath also likely to head to this meeting.
