October Stable News

We kicked off the month with a trip to my hometown of Cootamundra in pursuit of a win in the Cootamundra Cup and went oh so close with Old Man’s Angel and Arrow’s Destiny finishing 2nd and 3rd (with only a nostril between them) and only a neck behind the winner!

Halliday Road also ran a fantastic second earlier on Cootamundra Cup Day (yet another second for him!)

We covered a lot of miles across NSW during October and ended the month at my favourite track, Sapphire Coast 😊. From four starters at the meeting (all on debut for the stable) we came home with:

  • a winner in Micheal Oscar,
  • a 2nd with Casiard and
  • a 3rd placing with Sister Maree.

We were also presented with our second successive Sapphire Coast Trainer’s Premiership for the 2018/19 racing season as well as being awarded Horse of the Year with Monegal (also our second successive Horse of the Year title at Sapphire Coast with Jarrett taking out the honours in the previous season).

Old Man’s Angel, Theresa Maree and Titaness also added further placings to their records during the month, whilst Fleeting Stryke produced an excellent effort second up from a long break and isn’t far from returning to the winner’s circle.

Our new Polytrack has been opened at Kembla Grange and will be a fantastic addition to our training. An all weather track that presents a very consistent surface with plenty of give, it will be of great benefit to our horses.
